BETSY HICKS
About the artist
Betsy Hicks is a Boulder-based sculptor and mosaic artist who enjoys the process of creating artwork. She worked at IBM for 35 years as a Mechanical Engineer. Now that she is retired, she enjoys upcycling found and discarded materials in refreshing ways.
Betsy loves nature and uses this beauty as the inspiration for many of her art pieces. She is also very drawn to abstracts, natural symmetries and repeating patterns, and you will see these in a lot of her work.
She has created public artwork that can be viewed at the Wilson Community Garden in Lafayette, Community Cycles in Boulder, Tara School for the Performing Arts in Boulder, and at the Administration of Community Living in Boulder. Betsy teaches mosaics at East Side Art Institute in Lafayette and Groundworks Art Lab in Boulder.
